The Neuzeughammer anvil factory was founded in the 2nd half of the 19th century as part of the industrial boom along the Steyr River. In recent years, however, the factory was only used as a warehouse until the two current owners discovered the hall for themselves. Here two interests had to be represented, on the one hand to accommodate a ceramics manufactory on the ground floor and an associated apartment on the 1st floor, as well as a large garage for a car enthusiast and an apartment above with three children’s rooms. Both apartments of the owners are connected by a door. Here are also the respective kitchens arranged along a line running through the building as a link for the building and the apartments. An old hall roof was removed, thus opening up an oversized terrace as another shared space for the two apartments.
