By connecting two houses, a 156 m2 apartment is created on the third floor of a Wilhelminian style house. The L-shaped layout provides a natural zoning. The wish of our client is to have the possibility to easily equip the apartment with 2 internal accesses. Thus, in the front is the so-called youth and guest area, which could be designed as a separate unit by converting the current laundry room. Facing the courtyard is the master bedroom with adjoining bathroom.
The overarching theme of this apartment is our client’s art collection, which is to find a place on the walls. For this theme, special attention was paid to the lighting concept. With Occhio technology, it is possible to pull off one type of lamp in various required applications – from flush mounting, to a rotating bedside lamp.
The rear area of the apartment facing the courtyard is again staged with a large mirror surface and the three-dimensional gable implemented by the Austrian artist Otto Zitko.
